HLTCC405 – Tracheostomy Support

This course equips workers with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely support individuals with a tracheostomy.


Introduction:

Supporting individuals with a tracheostomy requires specialised knowledge, practical skills, and confidence in managing both routine care and emergency situations. This course introduces workers to the essential principles of tracheostomy support, ensuring safe, person-centred care in a range of settings.


Target Audience:

Support workers, disability support staff, aged care workers, and healthcare assistants involved in tracheostomy care.

  • Understand basic respiratory anatomy and the purpose of a tracheostomy
